To offer more services and expand our customers base, we are seeking experienced professionals specifically to support those overseas, for several roles. These roles provide an opportunity to work in Australia and the US on ground-breaking projects.

Utilising your knowledge and experience you will inform and deliver solutions on projects associated with naval base infrastructure, site and platform safety and environmental, nuclear regulation and licencing and training as part of future submarine programmes.

Job Summary

We are seeking knowledgeable and highly experienced Marine Engineers with UK Submarine experience to provide expert advice and technical solutions to our clients in the maritime industry.

The successful candidates will have been CAT A or B qualified watchkeepers and must be willing to travel overseas for periods of 3 or 6 months to provide consultancy services in any of the following disciplines.

  • Marine/Nuclear Engineering,
  • Nuclear Regulation, Licencing and Authorisation.
  • Nuclear Regulatory experience
  • Safety Engineering and Safety Management,
  • Health Physics,
  • Naval Base and Shipyard Infrastructure,
  • Training.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic guidance, thought-leadership and expert advice.
  • Shape our technical services, lead Naval Solutions’ technical disciplines.
  • Undertake feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, risk analysis and assessment.
  • Provide Technical Support and Assurance to clients during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of maritime projects.
  • Review and evaluate design proposals, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Author technical documents, reports, manuals, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Maritime and Naval Sector, engineering lifecycle and MoD Procurement.

Essential

  • Willing and able to travel to Australia or US for periods of 3 months or longer.
  • Possess strong Leadership skills and experience.
  • Self-starting personality.
  • Strong Technical background.
  • Excellent Teamwork skills.

Due to the nature of the work that Naval Solutions undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy SC clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Desirable

  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline related field.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
  • At least 10 years of experience in the maritime industry, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
  • In-depth knowledge of either vessel design, construction, or operation,
  • Understanding relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Strong project management skills, with the ability supervise multiple projects
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
