Salary range is between £60,000pa and £90,000pa, dependant on experience.

Job Summary
We are seeking a knowledgeable and highly experienced Principal Consultant to provide expert advice and technical solutions to our clients in the maritime industry.
The successful candidates will have a strong background and extensive experience and be able to provide consultancy services in any of the following disciplines in Ship’s or Submarines:
- Marine engineering,
- Safety Engineering and Safety Management,
- Systems Engineering,
- Supportability,
- Nuclear Engineering,
- Naval Architecture,
- Combat System Design,
- Weapon Design,
- Weapons Integration,
- Legislation Compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic guidance, thought-leadership and expert advice.
- Shape our technical services, lead Naval Solutions’ technical disciplines.
- Undertake feasibility studies, cost-benefit analysis, risk analysis and assessment.
- Provide Technical Support and Assurance to clients during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of maritime projects.
- Review and evaluate design proposals, specifications, and technical reports.
- Author technical documents, reports, manuals, and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Maritime and Naval Sector, engineering lifecycle and MoD Procurement.

- Due to the nature of the work that Naval Solutions undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy SC clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.
Desirable
- Degree in relevant Engineering discipline related field.
- Engineering Fellow or working towards becoming an Engineering Fellow.
- Although not essential, this role would particularly suit a Royal Navy/ Merchant Navy/ ex-MoD personnel.
- At least 10 years of experience in the maritime industry, with a proven track record of delivering successful projects.
- In-depth knowledge of either vessel design, construction, or operation,
- Understanding relevant regulations and standards.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
- Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability supervise multiple projects
- Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
