Salary range is between £35,000pa and £60,000pa, dependant on experience.

Job Summary:

We are seeking a Consultant to provide advice and technical solutions to our clients in the maritime industry.
The successful candidates will have had experience and be able to provide consultancy services in one or more of the following disciplines in Ship’s or Submarines:

  • Marine engineering,
  • Safety Engineering and Safety Management,
  • Systems Engineering,
  • Supportability,
  • Nuclear Engineering,
  • Naval Architecture,
  • Combat System Design,
  • Weapon Design,
  • Weapons Integration,
  • Legislation Compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Technical Support and Assurance to clients during the design, construction, and commissioning phases of maritime projects.
  • Review and evaluate design proposals, specifications, and technical reports.
  • Author technical documents, reports, manuals, and procedures.
  • Stay up-to-date with the latest trends and developments in Maritime and Naval Sector, engineering lifecycle and MoD Procurement.
  • Project Manage projects within the Naval Solutions portfolio.

  • Excellent Teamwork skills
  • Due to the nature of the work that Naval Solutions undertake, candidates will be required to undergo pre-employment screening and must be able to satisfy SC clearance criteria for UK National Security Vetting.

Desirable

  • Degree in relevant Engineering discipline related field.
  • Chartered Engineer or working towards becoming a Chartered Engineer.
  • Although not essential, this role would particularly suit a Royal Navy/ Merchant Navy/ ex-MoD personnel.
  • Knowledge of either vessel design, construction, or operation,
  • Understanding relevant regulations and standards.
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
  • Developing project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Willingness to travel to client sites as needed.
